A beautiful cottage set in a quiet bay, located on a pristine lake which offers all the cottage experiences adventurers seek.

Whether it is a quiet getaway, a boating, skiing or fishing adventure you seek, Happynest offers it all.

Family run with Bob just across the bay for anything that may be required.

Happynest began as a humble two-bedroom cottage in 1978 but we soon learned that there was a need for a private cottage property that could accommodate Family Reunions. As you will see from our customer comments pages, we have succeeded in providing the ideal combination of those features and services in a quiet, relaxed and friendly setting that our customers love to enthuse about when they write to thank us for treating them like family before, during and after their visit.

Indeed, some of our dearest friends are people that we have met though our experience as cottage hosts that now spans 37 years and counting. By the year 2000, we had torn down the original cottage and built what you see here today – a place for extended families to bond, and make fond memories to last a lifetime – Happynest

Boats

An assortment of boats – motor boat, paddle boat and canoe is included in the rental fee.  Other water toys are also available

Water Sports

Water skiing, tubing and wakeboarding can be arranged.  If you prefer air-powered, windsurfing is available in addition to the other water craft that are included in the rental.

Fishing

As our lake has 160 k.m. of shoreline with only 156 cottages in all, (on average one cottage per kilometre of shoreline) and 90% of that has NO development of any kind, there are lots of fish to go around – Large and Small Mouth Bass, Pike and the lake is stocked with hundreds of thousands of pickerel (Walleye) every year.

Lake Exploration

Paddle gracefully and quietly along the shoreline in the still waters of the early morning to view the lush greenery on either side of the lake. Perhaps you will see a beaver at work or catch a glimpse of a deer or moose along this unspoiled shoreline.

Thrilling Adventures

Have you ever seen shows or videos of people leaping off rock cliffs into the water and wanted to try it yourself? A short boat ride away is the famous “jumping rocks” that provides a thrilling experience on a par with anything you would find at “Wonderland” but there are no line-ups and it is FREE.

Choose your level and build the skill and courage to go higher.

I’m sorry we did not get to say goodbye.

The patch you made on my boat held.
I really appreciated your effort. Thank you.
The kids caught some fish and had a great time. That’s the main thing.
Take care Bob and thanks for the memories.

The Wodzinski Families

We had an amazing time. Great winter get away, ice fishing, snowmobiling for miles, ice skating, tobogganing everything you could ask for. A real winter wonderland. We had all the wood we needed for the week. The owner is very friendly and was there for us when we needed him. Cottage was very clean and simple exactly what we were looking for. We were informed of everything we needed to bring before we got there so we had no need to leave the property. If you love the true north and cottaging then this is the perfect little getaway for you and your family.

Feb 2021

We have arrived home a couple of hours ago, and wanted to say ‘thanks’
for the lovely week we were able to spend at your cottage.
Thanks for allowing us to use your sauna, it was lovely and the remnants of laryngitis I arrived with (tested negatively for Covid thankfully before we came to your cottage) are gone with the wind and sun and peace and quiet. Just now I stepped out of the house to get something from the car and it really struck me how much more polluted the air is here. And how much noise there is! I have fond memories of our stay and I even enjoyed the two days with snow. Wish winter would be that short but I am sure there is more in store in the months to come.

Warm regards, and maybe till another time in another season so that we can try our hands at that little boat 🙂
